About the Course

Construction has spent two years hearing that AI will transform the industry.  The honest picture in 2026 is narrower and more useful than the hype.  The wins are showing up in preconstruction, estimating, document search, and back-office administration.  At the same time, the connectivity that makes those tools possible has made construction one of the most targeted industries in the country for ransomware and payment fraud.

This session cuts through both sides.  We will walk through the AI use cases contractors are actually getting return on today, the specific ways attackers exploit how construction firms already work (progress payments, subcontractor and supplier email chains, jobsite trailers, shared project files), and the practical guardrails that let a firm adopt AI without handing bid data, contracts, or client information to a tool that should not have it.

Attendees leave with a short list of where to start, what to lock down first, and the questions to ask before anyone on the team pastes a project document into a chatbot.
