The Level IA Fundamentals Seminar offered by the NPDES Training Institute is a one day course designed to train contractors, builders, developers, site superintendents, grading, utility contractors, and monitoring consultants in the proper installation, maintenance, and site inspection protocol of best management practices (BMPs) for small and large construction sites. There are no prerequisites to attend this course.
Topics covered in this course are:
- Fundamentals of erosion and sediment control
- The Georgia Erosion & Sedimentation Act
- NPDES Permits
- field maintenance
- Stream buffers
- Vegetative and structural best management practices
Requirements to gain the Level IA (Blue Card) Certification of “Certified Personnel”
- Attend course
- Earn 70% or above on Level 1A certification exam
- Submit appropriate certification application, which is completed at the end of class when earning passing score
