Seeing is believing!
Everyone is invited to come and see the amazingly talented students in our state's high school construction programs compete in a variety of trades.
AGC Georgia is partnering with Brasfield & Gorrie to host construction students from high schools in 9 counties for the Metro Atlanta Georgia Skills Challenge. This event is one of eight regional competitions held throughout Georgia that will host a combined 2,300 students from more than 100 schools. With over 200 students competing in the Metro Atlanta Georgia Skills Challenge, several hundred additional students will observe in hopes of competing in the future. These students will also benefit from conversations with construction industry professionals who host interactive activities for students to become more familiar with specific construction trades.
All industry representatives are encouraged to attend this complimentary experience. To make the most of your visit please plan to arrive around 10:00 am so that you may see the students competing in their respective trades.
Industry is also invited to participate in this Skills Challenge by:
- Volunteering to serve as a judge for one of the day's competitions
- Hosting hands-on activities at an exhibit booth for students to get more familiar with opportunities your company provides for employment
- Serving as a monetary contributor to the Skills Challenge to help offset the costs of hosting the event
- Providing materials through an in-kind donation for students to use in their competition areas
